Hereford Cathedral Junior School Year 6 pupils took part in a production of ‘The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe’ at St Peter’s Church last week.

This was a collaborative process which began with a theatre trip to the Birmingham Rep Theatre production in January.

The children were involved in every aspect of the production, from making decisions about staging style to inventing new characters, writing scenes and performing a range of parts.

They were keen to perform the story in the round and to appeal to the senses as well as use giant puppetry to create the magical Aslan. The production developed into an interactive, magical and vibrant performance which is a reflection of the enthusiasm within the year group.

This was the last HCJS drama production for Miss Sutton, who will be leaving the school at the end of term after 16 years.

Congratulations to all pupils in Year 6 for an outstanding performance.
